Financial Accountant – Project & Construction Accounting
Location: London

We deliver essential services that keep businesses running, with finance playing a critical role in supporting operational performance across complex, project-led contracts.
We are looking for a Financial Accountant with a strong background in construction, project accounting and Work in Progress (WIP) accounting to join our UK&I Controlling team in London.
This role will focus on supporting a portfolio of construction and project-based contracts, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust balance sheet control and effective management of project costs and revenue recognition. Working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, you'll provide financial insight, oversee WIP and contract accounting, support month-end reporting and drive continuous improvements across financial processes.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing financial accounting across construction and project-based contracts.
- Preparing and reviewing WIP calculations, project reconciliations and revenue recognition.
- Supporting month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Producing financial analysis on project profitability, costs and performance.
- Partnering with Project Managers and Commercial teams to improve financial controls and reporting.
- Supporting audits, compliance and continuous process improvements.

We're looking for:
- Previous experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of WIP accounting, project accounting and contract accounting.
- Experience of month-end reporting, balance sheet control and financial analysis.
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
