We’re looking for a detail-focused Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and help keep OddBalls commercially ambitious and ready for the next stage of growth. This is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys getting into the detail, strengthening processes and playing a key role in a fast-growing, purpose-driven brand.
The Role
- Take ownership of key financial accounting activities, including balance sheet integrity, month-end close, reconciliations and statutory schedules.
- Work closely with the Head of Financial Control & Treasury and provide technical support across the wider Finance team.
- Help improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of our accounting processes as the business continues to grow.
What you will be doing
- Coordinate assigned month-end close activities, journals, reconciliations and reporting schedules.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items and resolve issues promptly.
- Own intercompany accounting, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset accounting and recurring month-end adjustments.
- Maintain oversight of sales and revenue accounting, including reconciliation of sales and settlement information to the general ledger.
- Prepare VAT, payroll, corporation tax and statutory filing schedules for review.
- Support year-end, audit preparation and audit requests across the Finance team.
- Identify opportunities to improve close processes, reconciliations, procedure notes and finance controls.

About you
- You’re a qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent — with experience in financial accounting, month-end close or a broad finance role.
- You have strong knowledge of balance sheet accounting, reconciliations, controls, VAT, payroll accounting and audit requirements.
- You’re confident using accounting systems such as Xero, Sage or similar, and you’re comfortable working with large data sets in Excel.
- You bring excellent attention to detail, a strong control mindset and a proactive approach to solving problems.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail or FMCG would be helpful, but it’s not essential.
