Financial Accountant

REPORTING TO:

Financial Reporting Manager

LOCATION:

HQ, Newry

CONTRACT TYPE:

Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday-Friday (40 hour Week) with early finish on Fridays

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and annual financial accounts, including accruals, prepayments, journal entries, and month-end reconciliations.
  • Support business compliance processes through the preparation and submission of required statutory filings.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of year-end accounts and Statutory Financial Statements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
  • Support finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, including data reconciliations, system testing, and process documentation.
  • Support external audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes through financial analysis and data preparation.
  • Produce departmental financial reports and provide detailed variance analysis against budget.
  • Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.

The Candidate

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience using ERP’s and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
