Financial Accountant

We’re looking for a financial accountant to join our team here at Starbucks EMEA. A place where you’re valued, challenged, and inspired. Where your voice is brewed into everything we do. At Starbucks, we’re all about you.

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing monthly management and year-end financial accounts within occupancy on a timely and accurate basis in compliance with relevant legal, accounting and tax regulations. Collaborating with partners across the business, you’ll support the UK market in meeting its accounting and reporting requirements.

We’ll look to you to bring your experience in managing accounting for large, multi-site operations, including preparing financial statements and supporting schedules. You’ll be ACA/ACCA qualified (or hold an international equivalent) with a strong understanding of US and IFRS16 accounting standards. Advanced double entry and bookkeeping knowledge is essential along with experience with large ERP systems such as Oracle, HFM, and Anaplan XL. You’ll also demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate cross functionally, and explain complex accounting concepts to non-accountants.

About

The best part about this role is that no two days are ever the same! Working as our financial accountant, you’ll get involved in:

  • Providing accounting support to the business for your respective area. Identifying and highlighting opportunities for automation and best practice improvements
  • Developing and maintaining various accounting systems and processes required to produce monthly management accounts in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and completeness for assigned P&L and balance sheet responsibilities
  • Producing statutory accounts and supporting schedules as assigned
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly P&L and Balance Sheet variance analyses and commentary, along with related supporting schedules
  • Providing documentation and analysis to support internal and external audits
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts
  • Preparing accruals and other journal entries based on outcomes from monthly meetings with relevant stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining accounting controls to ensure compliance with Starbucks’ internal policies and applicable accounting regulations
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive process documentation for areas of responsibility
  • Coordinating activities with external tax and accounting providers as needed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
