Financial Accountant (Temp-to-Perm)
West Yorkshire | Hybrid Working | Immediate Start Available
Your New Company
Hays are supporting a leading West Yorkshire organisation seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team on an interim basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. This is a key appointment during a period of change and offers the chance to make an immediate impact within a busy finance function.
Your New Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of core financial control activities, ensuring robust reporting processes, strong governance and accurate financial information.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and approving daily and monthly financial reporting
- Managing bank reconciliations and cash controls
- Completing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting month-end close and trial balance reviews
- Overseeing payment controls and approval processes
- Managing refunds, reversals, suspense accounts and unapplied payments
- Maintaining audit-ready documentation and financial controls
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Leading and developing two Finance Analysts
- Providing support to the Finance Director on ad hoc projects and business-critical activities

What You'll Need to Succeed
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Proven experience in a Financial Accountant, Finance Manager or similar position
- Strong technical accounting and financial control background
- Experience of month-end reporting and balance sheet management
- Ability to quickly adapt and add value within a fast-paced environment
- Previous shared service centre experience would be advantageous
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
