Are you a qualified finance professional looking to make a real impact within local government? An East Midlands Council is seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join their established finance team, supporting key services and helping drive effective financial management across the authority.
The Role
As Finance Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial support, working closely with budget holders and senior stakeholders to provide accurate financial information and strategic advice.

Key responsibilities include:
- Budget monitoring and forecasting
- Preparation of management accounts
- Financial planning and year-end activities
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
About You
We're interested in speaking with candidates who have:
- A recognised accounting qualification (CCAB/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA) or are actively progressing towards qualification
- Experience working within finance, accounting, or business partnering functions
- Previous local government experience would be advantageous but is not essential
