Financial Accountant | Engineering & Manufacturing | Leamington Spa (Hybrid Working) | £58,000–£62,000 | Permanent Role
Robert Half are partnering with a leading engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a well-established business and take ownership across financial reporting, month-end close, statutory accounts, IFRS and taxation.
The role would suit someone who has a strong technical accounting background and is comfortable taking ownership of the full P&L close, preparing and presenting statutory accounts, and ensuring the business remains fully compliant with current IFRS and tax requirements.
The successful candidate must come from a manufacturing environment and have a strong understanding of the financial and operational complexities of a product-led business.
About the Position
You will be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of the month-end close process, including reviewing and closing the P&L and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Preparing, reviewing and presenting statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring the business remains up to date with IFRS requirements and applying relevant accounting standards confidently across financial reporting.
- Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of tax legislation and ensuring appropriate tax accounting and compliance processes are followed.
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the balance sheet.
- Preparing management accounts and providing clear financial analysis and commentary to senior stakeholders.
- Working closely with operational and commercial teams to understand financial performance, investigate variances and provide meaningful insight into the underlying drivers of the P&L.
- Supporting the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and wider financial planning activities.
- Working closely with external auditors throughout the year-end process, managing technical queries and ensuring the timely completion of the statutory audit.
- Reviewing accounting treatments and providing technical accounting guidance to the wider finance team and business where required.
- Ensuring robust financial controls and processes are maintained across the business and identifying opportunities to improve reporting and financial processes.
- Supporting the wider finance function with ad hoc technical accounting, reporting and commercial projects as required.

What We're Looking For
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Proven experience working within a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Proven experience owning and closing the P&L as part of the month-end process.
- Strong experience preparing, reviewing and presenting statutory accounts.
- Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and the ability to apply accounting standards confidently in a commercial environment.
- Strong and current knowledge of tax accounting and relevant tax legislation.
- Experience working with external auditors and managing the year-end statutory audit process.
- Strong understanding of balance sheet accounting, reconciliations and financial controls.
