Alexander Daniels are working with an established and growing service business who are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Financial Accountant to join their expanding team in Nottingham. This role offers the chance to work within a complex business, contributing to high-quality financial reporting and analysis.

Your Responsibilities

  • Managing all financial activity for a designated group of entities
  • Partnering with operational and commercial teams to support performance
  • Reviewing statutory and management accounts
  • Producing monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets
  • Preparing quarterly consolidated accounts and KPI reporting
  • Managing cashflow forecasting, cash management, and distribution processes
  • Reviewing VAT returns and fixed asset registers
  • Completing intercompany reconciliations
  • Approving payment runs
  • Preparing annual budgets and statutory accounts (IFRS/FRS 102)
  • Supporting audit, tax compliance, lender reporting, and board reporting
  • Ensuring adherence to internal processes, controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Providing support to wider teams and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified Accountant who is well on their way to achieving their full accounting qualification (ACCA or CIMA) with previous experience in a similar financial accounting role and solid double-entry bookkeeping knowledge. You must be highly organised with strong attention to detail and advanced Excel skills, and be confident working independently and taking initiative whilst collaborating to work effectively with colleagues across the business.
