Established in 2010, Aramco Trading (ATC) is now the lead premier trading company in the Middle East. ATC initially started operations focusing on the trade of refined products, blending components, bulk petrochemicals, and polyolefins. Aramco Trading Limited (ATL) was incorporated in London in 2019. ATL carry out energy trading activities, in particular the trading, by way of procurement and sale of refined products, crude oil, specialty petroleum products and chemicals. In addition to physical trading, ATL also engage in a wide variety of activities including shipping, chartering, storage and trading of financial derivatives. The company has a widely diverse employee base with expertise in all aspects of the oil trading market. The rapidly expanding London team compliments our global network and provides constant coverage across all time zones. ATL is an active participant in hydrocarbon trading in Europe, Africa and the Americas, with wide variety of crude grades and different petroleum products. The Company has also been expanding its activities to include GAS business where trading Liquefied Petroleum Products (LPG) and Lignified Natural Gas (LNG) form part of the growing portfolio.

ATL are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to support the Finance Department of Aramco Trading, London.

Duties include:

  • Statutory Accounts production and co-ordination
  • Accounting standards, control and advice. Be aware of existing and new standards, review impact and advice
  • Accounting policies/papers, develop and build on the current library with review intervals. Manage group and local policies and develop papers
  • Manage and assist with good practice, review, manage and develop a library of procedures.
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax for review by Tax Accountant
  • IFRS16 Lease accounting and review of any other depreciation
  • Monthly review of results using variance analysis and appropriate techniques advise the business of material changes
  • Analysis and modelling of impact for new deals
  • FX Hedging analysis and modelling
  • Bank reconciliation and clearing control/management
  • OPEX Bank Account funding control
  • ONS Reports
  • Revaluation - FX
  • Chart of Accounts and Cost Centre Management
  • Monthly review of BCP reporting package with variance movement greater than 10%
  • Assist and support the OPEX Accountant focusing on Management accounts and forecasting developments
  • Development and management of Transfer Pricing review models
  • Assist with projects as they materialize

Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree
  • Fully or part qualified (CIMA or ACCA)
  • Oil and gas trading background preferable
  • Experience of producing income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in use of financial IT systems
  • Possess a strong analytical, problem-solving mindset
  • Attention to detail, well organized and ability to prioritise and work under pressure
