An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly successful and privately owned investment group with a diverse portfolio of businesses operating across multiple sectors. Working within a collaborative and high-performing finance team, you'll gain exposure to a complex group structure including both UK and international entities. This role offers an excellent platform for a newly qualified accountant or a first-time mover from practice looking to develop their career within industry and gain experience across group reporting, consolidations, statutory accounts, and corporate finance.

Your new role

As Finance Accountant, you will support the Group Financial Controller across a broad range of financial reporting, compliance, and month-end activities. This is a varied role that will provide exposure to both technical accounting and commercial finance responsibilities.

Key duties will include:

  • Preparation of consolidated statutory accounts and supporting year-end audit processes.
  • Assisting with group consolidations, intercompany reconciliations, and elimination journals.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of statutory accounts and Companies House filings.
  • Liaising with auditors, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assisting with corporation tax, VAT, and wider compliance requirements across the group.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple legal entities.
  • Supporting the production of board reporting packs, financial analysis, and investment performance reporting.
  • Assisting with forecasting, cash flow reporting, and group financial planning activities.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of financial controls, reporting processes, and governance frameworks.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will ideally be a recently qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant, although candidates approaching qualification will also be considered. You will also possess:

  • Experience gained within practice or industry finance environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and management accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
