Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant role is a key management position within the Finance function, responsible for overseeing the Sales Ledger Accountant and Finance Assistant across a range of team and business-wide finance activities.

Client Details

Medium size business reporting into a larger group.

Description

  • Manage billing and revenue recognition, ensuring accurate invoicing, reconciliations, and minimizing revenue leakage.
  • Oversee VAT, tax compliance, statutory reporting, and external audit requirements.
  • Act as the key finance contact for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring ledger accuracy, robust controls, and timely issue resolution.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury activities, and working capital performance.
  • Monitor and improve financial controls, processes, and reporting across transactional finance functions.
  • Support finance transformation projects, system enhancements, and process automation initiatives.

Profile

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

  • A recognised qualification in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Experience with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Job Offer

  • Salary between £45,000 and £55,000, dependent on the level of experience.
