About the Role
As the Financial Accountant, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of key financial reporting activities within a successful and growing travel business. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and senior stakeholders, you'll play a visible role in delivering accurate financial information, supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring the business maintains strong financial controls.
This is a varied position that will give you exposure to group consolidations, statutory reporting, board-level reporting and regulatory compliance, while allowing you to contribute to continuous improvement across the finance function. If you enjoy combining strong technical accounting expertise with commercial exposure in a fast-paced environment, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare and oversee the Group’s consolidated monthly management accounts, including analysis of cash flows, overheads, exceptional costs and capital expenditure.
- Prepare board packs and management reporting decks, explaining performance through KPIs and commentary for board and senior leadership meetings.
- Manage the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and group consolidations, liaising directly with our external auditors.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements in connection with ATOL (Air Travel Organiser's Licence), ABTA and CAR licences. This will include accurate financial data submissions and annual licence renewal support.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and relevant tax regulations (VAT, Corporation Tax & people related taxes).
- Liaise with tax advisors, banking partners, regulatory bodies, and key internal stakeholders.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial processes, drawing on best practice.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
