This Financial Accountant opportunity based in Coventry, delivers great visibility and autonomy as the number two to the Finance Director in the team.
Our client is an innovation-focused global manufacturer, and you will support the UK business operations in delivering excellence in financial control.
This all-encompassing role will focus on all areas of financial accounting with a particular emphasis on general ledger accounting, master data management, fixed assets, treasury control, and tax matters.
It presents an opportunity to become a trusted right-hand to the Finance Director, influence key financial decisions, and build a long-term career within a successful business with international exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in monthly and annual close
- General Ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and inter-company recharges
- Handle all treasury functions including cash management, liquidity forecasting, daily bank reconciliations, administration & banking relationships
- Responsible for all areas of tax compliance with accurate on-time submissions for VAT and Corporation Tax
- Own the fixed asset register, impairment reviews, depreciation, capitalisation & disposal accounting
- Handle credit control, posting & reconciling customer payments
- External reporting including the annual Statutory Reporting and coordinating the audit process
- Responsibility for the company master data together with tracking and reporting on key metrics

Requirements:
- A Qualified professional, either ACCA or ACA (ICAEW) seeking first move from practice
- Or, proven experience in a finance function, with a focus on general ledger financial accounting, month end, tax & treasury
- Own the role, able to support and be a reliable Number 2 to the Finance Director – be their ‘right-hand’ person
- Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups etc)
- Any ERP systems experience beneficial (Oracle, SAP etc)
- Confident communication skills at all business levels, both internally and externally
