Financial Accountant

Venture Recruitment Partners is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected organisation in Basingstoke to recruit a Financial Accountant into a key position within its finance team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to take ownership of a significant Property, Plant & Equipment portfolio while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business. You'll play a key role in ensuring robust financial control, governance and reporting, whilst providing valuable financial insight to support strategic decision-making.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing end-to-end capital accounting and Fixed Asset accounting.
  • Maintaining a significant Property, Plant & Equipment balance.
  • Accounting for leases under IFRS 16.
  • Producing monthly financial reporting, forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting month-end, year-end and audit activities.
  • Partnering with operational teams on capital projects and investment programmes.
  • Strengthening financial controls, governance and reporting processes.
  • Presenting financial information and insights to senior stakeholders across the organisation.

About You

You'll be ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA qualified (or close to qualification) with strong technical financial accounting experience gained within a complex organisation. You'll also bring:

  • Solid experience of capital accounting, Fixed Assets and IFRS 16.
  • Strong financial reporting and balance sheet experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information clearly.
  • A proactive approach with a passion for improving processes and controls.
