Role Description
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant who enjoys working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment and is looking for a role with genuine responsibility and exposure to the wider business.
You will take ownership of key accounting processes, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial information while supporting management with meaningful financial reporting and analysis.
Financial Accounting
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records for the London business.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other accounting adjustments.
- Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and associated accounting records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes where required.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with cash and bank reconciliations.
- Review financial transactions to ensure appropriate coding and supporting documentation.

Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management information.
- Analyse financial performance against budget and prior periods.
- Investigate material variances and provide commentary to management.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow projections.
- Provide financial insight to assist management in making informed commercial decisions.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UK tax and accounting requirements.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisers as required.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end audit requirements.
- Maintain appropriate financial records and documentation to support regulatory and statutory requirements.
Financial Controls
- Maintain robust financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Identify discrepancies, control weaknesses, and potential financial risks.
- Ensure appropriate authorisation and supporting documentation for financial transactions.
- Assist with improving finance processes, systems, and reporting efficiencies.

Group Finance
- Work closely with the wider Group Finance team across international operations.
- Assist with group reporting and consolidation requirements.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial information across the Group.
- Support ad hoc financial projects and business initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- A recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or be actively working towards qualification.
- Proven experience in a Financial Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journals.
- Experience with VAT and UK statutory requirements.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with large datasets and financial models.
- Experience working with accounting/ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider finance team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
