Role: Financial Accountant

Working model: Hybrid (3 days in office per week)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Financial Accountant is a broad position within the Finance Department at SEGA. The role will provide key direct support to the UK Financial Manager and the wider Finance team, and cover areas of both Financial and Management Accounting.

The Financial Accountant will play a vital role in the smooth running of the month end processes, including suggesting and implementing process and efficiency improvements together with the UK Financial Manager. The position requires excellent accounting skills and high attention to detail and will allow the successful candidate to gain further experience within the SEGA finance function as they grow into the position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for all Intercompany balances, the group intercompany reconciliation and reporting processes including Cash Management deposits.
  • Oversight of the monthly UK Marketing spend and forecast (Getsuji), ensuring recognition of the costs are in following with the applicable accounting standards.
  • Manage VGEC B2B invoicing, update the VGEC matrix, and reconcile to source data.
  • Manage bank transaction reconciliations within the Cash Management ledger and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Manage the intercompany recharge process and accounts.
  • Responsible for month end journals for these areas including VAT reallocations between studios monthly.
  • Close involvement in both the yearend group audit and the statutory accounts audit process.
  • Preparation and submission of Group Reporting (SSHD) Packs for the UK Entities.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of the National Statistics information.
  • Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Coordinate and submit ONS statistical surveys and returns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process Control and improvement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Part Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Minimum three-years’ experience in accounting role.
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Excel and ability to process large data sets.
  • Prior experience of Oracle or similar ERP system.
  • Strong communication skills being able to work with internal stakeholder at all levels of the business and external suppliers.
  • Time management and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptable to change management.
