Financial Accountant

12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

£44,000 - £55,000 per annum

Newcastle - hybrid working (3 days in office per week)

About the Role

Sellick Partnership is recruiting a Financial Accountant on behalf of a large, global business headquartered in Newcastle. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract that has resulted from internal resources being redirected to a major business transformation programme. The successful candidate will step into a well-established finance reporting team and take ownership of day-to-day financial accounting responsibilities while the programme runs its course.

Overview of the Financial Accountant role

Sitting within the finance reporting function and working closely with senior finance leadership, you will be responsible for delivering accurate statutory and regulatory reporting across the business. This is a role for someone who is technically strong, organised and comfortable working with minimal hand-holding - the team needs someone who can pick things up quickly and maintain high standards throughout the contract period. The role is based in Newcastle with 3 days per week in the office.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
