Financial Accountant – Capex | Fixed Assets
Location: Theale
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week
Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a leading Telecoms Infrastructure company based in Theale.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified ACCA accountant with strong financial accounting experience and, importantly, hands-on experience within Capex and/or Fixed Assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial accounting, reporting and forecasting activities, with a particular focus on Capex and associated assets. You will play an important role in the month-end process, financial reporting, reconciliations, forecasting and maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly financial accounting and month-end processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring assets are accurately recorded and accounted for.
- Support Capex accounting, including WIP and asset movements.
- Produce monthly Capex results, analysis and financial commentary.
- Take ownership of elements of the Capex financial forecast, working with stakeholders on budget submissions and updates.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, identifying key risks and opportunities.
- Support statutory reporting, statutory disclosures and external audit requirements.
- Assist with customer billing and ensure financial data is complete and accurate across multiple systems.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support business decision-making.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to ensure financial information is accurately recorded and reported.
- Identify opportunities for process and systems improvements within the Finance function.
- Respond to ad hoc financial reporting and analysis requirements.

About You
We are looking for a fully qualified ACCA accountant with a strong foundation in financial accounting and proven experience working with Capex and/or Fixed Assets.

You will ideally have:
- Fully qualified ACCA qualification – essential.
- Strong financial accounting and month-end experience.
- Proven experience with Capex and/or Fixed Asset accounting – essential.
- Experience managing or maintaining a Fixed Asset Register.
- Experience with WIP and asset accounting.
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation and journal preparation experience.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Experience supporting statutory reporting and external audits.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills, ideally including financial modelling and working with complex datasets.
- Experience working with ERP/finance systems; Agresso/Unit4 experience would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work to tight deadlines.
