Financial Accountant
Location: Warwick + Hybrid Working
Salary: £55,000-£60,000
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly successful organisation seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its finance team.
This is a key position within the finance function, responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting statutory and group reporting requirements. The role offers excellent exposure across the business, working with both finance and operational stakeholders to ensure the integrity of financial information and drive continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly financial accounts and supporting schedules.
- Maintain and strengthen balance sheet controls through robust reconciliation and review processes.
- Take ownership of key accounting areas including fixed assets, inventory and lease accounting.
- Ensure financial data is accurate, complete and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
- Support year-end statutory accounts preparation and external audit activities.
- Act as a key contact for auditors, coordinating requests and ensuring timely delivery of information.
- Assist with group reporting requirements and corporate reporting submissions.
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations prepared by junior team members.
- Support tax reporting processes and provide finance input into compliance requirements.
- Investigate and resolve accounting issues, recommending practical solutions where required.
- Partner with operational teams to improve the quality and accuracy of financial information.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate and enhance finance processes.
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, systems improvements and ad hoc projects.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced members of the finance team.

Skills & Requirements:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience within a Financial Accountant, Senior Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and accounting standards.
- Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and managing month-end activities.
- Exposure to statutory accounts preparation and audit processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence analysing financial data.
- Experience using ERP systems; SAP experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong control-focused mindset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business.
- A proactive and continuous improvement approach.
