Sheridan Maine London is recruiting a Financial Accountant for a permanent, full-time position based in London, offering a salary between £60,000 and £65,000 per annum. Based in West London, the role offers hybrid working, with three days per week in the office.
The Role
Responsibilities
As Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organisation's financial reporting. Working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the production of accurate and timely month-end management reporting and accounts.
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring financial information is accurate and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
- Investigating financial variances and providing meaningful analysis against budgets, forecasts and previous periods.
- Supporting the preparation of statutory, regulatory and tax-related returns.
- Overseeing accounting for foreign exchange transactions and related financial activity.
- Managing and reconciling intercompany and loan accounts.
- Supporting the year-end audit process and working closely with external auditors.
- Identifying financial and operational risks and helping to implement effective controls.
- Contributing to finance projects and continuously improving processes, systems and ways of working.
- Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business and supporting the wider Finance team when required.
About You
We’re looking for a qualified accountant with strong financial accounting experience and a hands-on, commercially minded approach.

You Will Ideally Have
- At least three years' post-qualification experience, preferably gained within a fast-paced or high-volume environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including a good understanding of IFRS.
- Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems and large volumes of data.
- The ability to investigate issues, identify solutions and communicate financial information clearly.
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to take ownership and get involved across the wider finance function.
