Job Description
Location: Brett Martin Ltd, 24 Roughfort Road
Financial Accountant (Maternity Cover)
Join our Finance team in this exciting maternity cover opportunity. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and account reconciliations, while supporting audit and compliance activities. This is a varied and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to make a real impact within a busy and dynamic business environment.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly financial journals.
- Complete month-end and year-end accounts for two group companies.
- Analyse financial performance, including budget, forecast and prior year variances.
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, purchase ledger and GRNI.
- Process accruals and foreign exchange calculations.
- Manage the sales rebate process.
- Prepare statutory and regulatory submissions, including Packaging Tax and IPR returns.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Assist with the annual external audit and other finance projects.

Required Criteria
- Hold or working towards a recognised accountancy qualification.
- At least 1 years recent & relevant experience.
- Experience of monthly reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of windows based software including excel spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and oral communication, time management & organisational skills.
Desired Criteria
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics and PowerBI.
- An honours degree in Business Studies or Accountancy or similar Post Graduate Qualification.
- Experience of Statutory returns.
