Financial Accountant

Reading | Hybrid Working | Global FMCG Business | Growth Through Acquisition

Venture Recruitment Partners is delighted to be partnering with a global FMCG business to recruit a Financial Accountant into its expanding European finance team.

Following a number of recent brand acquisitions and continued international growth, the business is strengthening its finance function to support an increasingly diverse portfolio across Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that's evolving at pace, where finance is playing a key role in integrating new brands, driving consistency across the group and supporting future growth.

This isn't a transactional reporting role. It's an opportunity to become part of a commercially focused finance team, working across multiple international entities, influencing process improvements and helping shape the finance function during an exciting period of change.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of the financial accounting for several European entities, ensuring robust financial reporting, strong governance and compliance across the group.

As the business continues to integrate newly acquired brands, you'll work closely with colleagues across Europe to improve financial processes, standardise reporting and ensure the highest levels of financial control.

Alongside the core accounting responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in integration projects, process improvement initiatives and wider finance transformation activities, making this an ideal move for someone who enjoys variety and wants to contribute beyond the month-end close.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
