The Opportunity

An established international energy organisation is looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a growing infrastructure business in London.

The position will support financial accounting, statutory reporting, regulatory submissions, lender reporting, and external audits. The successful candidate will also help maintain effective financial controls and deliver accurate reporting to senior stakeholders and the wider group. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant UK energy-transition programme involving major infrastructure assets and long-term decarbonisation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and reporting activities in accordance with company controls and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and supporting financial information.
  • Review and reconcile the monthly trial balance, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Calculate and post depreciation, asset-retirement, and decommissioning-related charges.
  • Review capital expenditure reports and ensure costs are classified and capitalised correctly.
  • Complete monthly cost allocations and maintain the relevant supporting documentation.
  • Prepare balance-sheet reconciliations and accounting schedules, including intercompany accounts.
  • Produce periodic financial and management reports for group stakeholders, regulators, government bodies, and finance providers.
  • Ensure information submitted through internal reporting systems agrees with the underlying accounting records.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory and regulatory financial statements.
  • Respond to accounting and reporting queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the development and improvement of accounting processes, reporting tools, controls, and finance policies.
  • Ensure financial activities comply with internal governance standards, accounting policies, and external regulations.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support statutory, regulatory, and external audit processes.
  • Work closely with finance, commercial, project, and corporate teams to meet reporting deadlines.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
