Job Overview
Are you a qualified or part-qualified accountant with strong financial reporting and month-end experience? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced commercial environment where accuracy, analysis, and financial control are critical?
We’re looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our finance team, supporting the delivery of accurate month-end reporting, balance sheet integrity, revenue accounting, and financial compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of key reporting activities, work closely with senior finance stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
Month-end reporting
- Deliver assigned month-end activities within deadlines
- Prepare and post journals for rebates, revenue adjustments, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications
- Review and clear suspense and control accounts
- Investigate unusual transactions and balance movements
Revenue and rebate accounting
- Maintain and reconcile customer rebate reserves and accruals
- Prepare accounting entries for customer incentives, licences, referrals etc.
- Support revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting
- Monitor the financial impact of commercial agreements
Balance sheet controls
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Reconcile key accounts including inventory provisions, rebate reserves, deferred revenue, VAT, investments, and revenue control accounts
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences
- Support compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
Financial analysis and reporting
- Analyse financial data and identify significant movements and trends
- Prepare reporting schedules and supporting documentation
Skills And Experience
We’re looking for someone who combines technical accounting expertise with strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple priorities.

Essential
- Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Experience of month-end close and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and journal preparation
- Knowledge of accruals, provisions, and revenue accounting
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Desirable
- Experience within a large commercial organisation
- Knowledge of SOX controls and financial compliance
- Experience with ERP systems
- Understanding of inventory and stock accounting
