About the Role

We're seeking a qualified accountant to manage the financial operations of Tripadvisor's FCA-regulated Payment Institution in the UK. This is a hands-on role within a high-volume marketplace environment, where you'll tackle complex financial and regulatory challenges with agility and precision.

Based in Oxford/London/Dublin with hybrid flexibility, you'll report to the Owl Payments Europe CFO. The position requires close collaboration with global finance teams and cross-functional business partnering with payments, product, engineering, and operations teams.

What You'll Do

Regulatory Reporting & Compliance

  • Responsible for daily safeguarding operations and reconciliations across UK and EU operations
  • Maintenance of adequate processes and operations in compliance with UK payment services regulations including CASS 15 and capital adequacy obligations
  • Preparation and submission of regulatory reports in compliance with the FCA’s requirements
  • Management of regulatory audits relating to safeguarding and capital adequacy
  • Creation and maintenance of relevant policies and procedures

Financial Accounting and Management Reporting

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Oversight and approval of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Liquidity and FX management, including partnering with Treasury team
  • Preparation and presentation of quarterly Board reporting
  • Preparation of annual financial statements and management of audit process
  • Annual budget preparation and forecasting
  • Payments performance analysis including cost of payments metrics

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of professional finance experience
  • Degree-level education or equivalent
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • Core Expertise
    • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making in day-to-day work.
    • Proven ability to operate effectively with a global-first mindset
    • Previous experience in regulated financial services, fintech, or payments sectors an advantage
    • Specialised understanding of safeguarding obligations and capital requirements an advantage
    • Strong financial control and management reporting capabilities
    • Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
    • Ability to quickly master complex processes and systems
