Financial Accountant

Core3 is delighted to be working with a growing organisation in Bristol to recruit a Financial Accountant to join its finance team.

Why join our client

This is a hands-on Financial Accountant role with real ownership across month-end, payroll, compliance and year-end activity. You'll work closely with the Finance Director and play a central role in making sure the core finance operation runs accurately and on time.

It's a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys detail, takes ownership of deadlines and wants broad exposure across financial accounting, audit, tax and transactional finance.

How you'll make an impact

  • Own key elements of the month-end close across multiple entities
  • Prepare prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage end-to-end payroll activity, including pensions and year-end submissions
  • Complete VAT returns and support wider tax and compliance requirements
  • Prepare year-end schedules and support the external audit process
  • Act as a day-to-day contact for auditors during planning and fieldwork
  • Review aged debt and support credit control activity
  • Review purchase and sales ledger activity, identifying coding or VAT issues
  • Provide technical review and support across the wider finance team
  • Support payments, cash flow and wider finance operations when required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
