Financial / Statutory Accountant
Sheffield | Hybrid Working | £38,000 - £42,000 | Temporary to Permanent

Hays Accountancy & Finance are proud to be supporting a well-established organisation based in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Financial / Statutory Accountant on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team in a varied role that offers both flexibility and long-term career prospects.
Your new role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while supporting statutory and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly financial accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and audit requirements
- Supporting year-end and month-end processes
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and associated reporting
- Managing VAT returns and other regulatory submissions
- Ensuring compliance with financial controls and accounting standards
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders across the business
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting

What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified by experience, part-qualified or fully qualified (AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
- Previous experience within a financial accounting, statutory accounting or reporting role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting processes
- Excellent Excel and systems skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines
