Financial Accountant
Our high growth client in the energy services industry are looking for a new Financial Accountant to join their team in London. Reporting into the Finance Director, this is a key role where you will support the financial running of the business, including month end, statutory accounts, year-end audit as well as ad-hoc analysis and business partnering.
Key responsibilities
- Support the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
- Prepare reporting submissions and supporting analysis for review by the Group Finance team.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors where required.
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in line with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and Group policies.
- Investigate variances, review financial performance, and provide clear supporting commentary to stakeholders.
- Assist with cash flow reporting, forecasting, and wider finance projects as required.
- Support the integration of newly acquired businesses and help drive ongoing process improvements across the finance function.

About you

- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Experience gained within a financial accounting, audit, or management accounting role.
- Strong technical accounting foundation, with exposure to statutory accounts and audit processes.
- Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Previous experience in an listed, multi-entity, energy, infrastructure, renewable, or acquisitive business would be advantageous, but is not essential.
