Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a well-established finance team sat within a manufacturing facility. This role is ideally suited to an individual with experience in Pharma or a similar manufacturing environment who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
This is a key position within the finance function, playing a central role in ensuring robust financial control, strong reporting processes, and effective business partnering across the organisation. You will be instrumental in driving improvements to end-to-end finance processes, enhancing systems and controls, and supporting overall business performance through high-quality financial insight.
The successful candidate will take ownership of core financial accounting activities, including working capital management and cash flow forecasting, oversight of the accounts payable process, and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax and statutory requirements. You will also be responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and the delivery of accurate trial balances.
In addition, the role supports year-end audit processes and statutory reporting, while contributing to the ongoing development of financial policies and procedures. A strong emphasis is placed on business partnering, working closely with both finance colleagues and operational teams to support capital investment planning and provide meaningful financial information to stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
