We're partnering with a global anti-slavery organisation to find a motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to lead a small but complex finance operations department for a period of 8-10 months.

As the Financial Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the financial systems that underpin the mission. From overseeing international financial processing to developing robust controls, your expertise will ensure effective and efficient financial operations. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected organisation and contribute to transformative work on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain and administer and develop the accounting system
  • Provide training and support on financial policies and procedures
  • Produce quarterly VAT returns and manage the fixed assets register
  • Support year-end statutory audits and liaise with external stakeholders
  • Manage accounts payable and oversee weekly payment runs
  • Manage and develop the finance officer
  • Act as a key point of contact for financial queries across the organisation

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Part or fully qualified CCAB accountant or qualified by experience
  • Demonstrable experience in financial accounting system maintenance
  • Strong understanding of statutory accounts and group reporting
  • Experience in international accounts payable functions
