About Bedford
Bedford is one of Anaplan's largest and longest-running Gold partners, recognised year after year for excellence and innovation. As we grow across EMEA, we look for people who are curious, take ownership and go Beyond the Expected - for one another, for our customers and for our partners.
Our culture is built on partnership, innovation, customer focus, humility and teamwork. If that sounds like you, Bedford will feel like home.
Role Opportunity
Sitting within the Finance Team and working closely with the Financial Controller and CFO, you will act as deputy to the Financial Controller, supporting them in all aspects of their role and delivering time-critical operational finance activities, including month and year-end close and reporting. You will own reconciliations, management reporting, weekly cash flow forecasting and treasury management for allocated business units, while playing a key role in systems implementations and enhancements that build new capabilities in the finance function.
This is a qualified role suited to a commercially minded accountant who can operate independently, with a high degree of autonomy, in a highly matrixed organisation, exercise sound judgement on technical accounting matters, and liaise with advisers across multiple regions.
It will suit a meticulous, resourceful and self-motivated accountant who is comfortable operating without a predefined path, takes ownership in shaping and delivering their own approach, and has the intuition to take on opportunities without being told, while knowing the boundaries of their authority.
Reports to: Financial Controller & CFO
Location: Belfast / Remote
Hours: 40 hours per week (excluding a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
