ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT & JOB PURPOSE
At INEOS Energy, we produce and trade oil, gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and carbon credits. This is supported by our investments in low-carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea, and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.
INEOS Energy Trading operates across Oil (crude and refined products), Natural Gas, LNG and derivatives markets. Our core mission is to fully monetise INEOS Energy’s equity Oil and Gas production across Europe and the US.
Beyond this, the Trading and Business Development teams are tasked with originating and developing complementary third-party physical business.
Our team is on an exciting growth journey, and we anticipate continued growth across both new commodities and geographies, as the business evolves to support INEOS Energy’s expanding global footprint.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
