Brewer Morris are partnering with a London-based specialist bank undergoing continued growth and transformation. With a collaborative finance function and strong backing from an international banking group, the business offers broad exposure across financial control, reporting and operational finance, making it an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant seeking a varied and visible role.

Role Overview

The Financial Accounting Manager will report into senior finance leadership and take ownership of a wide range of financial control, reporting and accounting processes. The role combines oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, balance sheet control, VAT and tax reporting, audit support, and team management, offering significant breadth and responsibility within a dynamic banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Manage VAT reporting, tax support and statutory disclosures
  • Support external audits and coordinate audit deliverables
  • Review and strengthen financial controls, reconciliations and reporting processes
  • Mentor and develop junior finance team members

Experience Required

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Financial accounting experience within banking or financial services
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial controls background
  • Experience managing month-end, statutory reporting and audit processes
  • Knowledge of VAT reporting and wider finance compliance requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate in a hands-on environment
