LOCATION
Claydon Office. Driving Licence required as some travelling/ working to client locations.
HOURS
8.30am to 5.00pm – 5 days per week. (part time working would be considered).
JOB SUMMARY
An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join our small and friendly accounts team based in Claydon, Suffolk. This permanent position would suit a competent person who is capable for the provision of accurate and timely financial information. Must be previously from a practice background.
ACCOUNTS
- The role covers accounts production for various clients supported by a qualified accountant.
- This varies from monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts for all types of entities (partnerships, sole traders, limited companies, and LLPs).
- Calculation of accruals and prepayments as well as profit and loss analysis work and detailed gross margin reconciliations will be required along with other balance sheet reconciliations as necessary.
- Preparation of budgets and cashflow forecasts and comparisons will also be required for some clients.

BOOKKEEPER
For a small number of clients. Duties may include,
- Processing purchase invoices.
- Raising sales invoices.
- Processing month end payments.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Produce monthly cashflows or P&L reports.
- Liaise with managers or clients as appropriate.
- Visiting clients on farm to carry out bookkeeping as appropriate.
- Run quarterly and monthly VAT reports.
- Assisting and preparing cashflow reports and analysing against budgets. Reporting reasons for variances and ensuring the full cashflow reporting system works effectively and efficiently.
PAYROLL
Payroll experience preferred but not required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- AAT – Level 4 / ACCA student.
- Computerised accounts package.
- Proficient in Microsoft excel (Vlookups etc) and other Microsoft products.
- Previous work within an accountancy practice essential.
- Previous work in a paperless office is an advantage.
- Agricultural knowledge desired but not crucial.
