The Opportunity
We are looking for an organised and detail-orientated Financial Administrator to support the business across our main offices in Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick and Workington.
You will need to be prepared to travel regularly between our offices in Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick and Workington.
This is primarily an administrative role focused on collecting, organising and checking clients' accounting records and supporting documents before they are submitted to our outsourcing partner. You will help ensure that each client's accounting file is complete, accurate and well organised so it is ready for review, the preparation of annual accounts and subsequent submission to our in-house Client Managers.
Accuracy, confidentiality and effective communication are important parts of the role. You will also regularly travel between our Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick and Workington offices to obtain the client accounting files and information required.
What you'll be doing
- Collect and organise financial information received from clients.
- Prepare and organise the documents required for the preparation of annual accounts by our Client Relationship Managers.
- Review client documentation to make sure files are complete and properly organised.
- Identify missing information, including invoices, receipts, bank statements and other supporting documents.
- Prepare schedules and working papers for Client Relationship Managers.
- Enter and maintain financial information on accounting systems and spreadsheets where required.
- Follow up with clients regarding missing or outstanding information.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems.
- Assist with general accounts and administrative tasks as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling clients' financial and personal information.
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure files are complete and ready for drafting.
- Manage multiple client files while working accurately and meeting deadlines.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
