Willowbrook Care Home

Willowbrook Care Home is a specialist service in Birmingham, providing high quality care for up to 75 residents living with dementia, mental health conditions and complex needs. The home delivers clinically led, person centred care within a structured and supportive environment, promoting independence, stability and overall wellbeing.

Financial Administrator (Part-Time) Contract

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Contracted to 20 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm, with the agreed working pattern arranged on a part-time basis
  • Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Financial Administrator, you will provide accurate, confidential and well-organised financial administration for Willowbrook Care Home, supporting the Home Manager with the effective management of petty cash, residents' monies and financial records.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of residents' funds, recording receipts and withdrawals, issuing receipts, completing regular reconciliations and ensuring all transactions are supported by the appropriate authorisation and documentation. You will also manage the petty cash float, arrange replenishment when required and ensure cash and financial information are stored securely.

You will support banking and receipt processes, prepare financial summaries and documentation for the Home Manager, and assist with internal and external audits. You will be expected to identify and promptly report any discrepancies, missing funds or concerns, including potential financial abuse or poor practice, in line with safeguarding and reporting procedures.

Working closely with residents, relatives, representatives, colleagues and approved external contacts, you will provide a professional and respectful service while maintaining confidentiality, appropriate boundaries and compliance with data protection requirements.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in financial administration, bookkeeping, cash handling or a similar administrative role.
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience completing reconciliations and identifying or investigating discrepancies.
  • Trustworthy and confident handling residents' money and sensitive financial information.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Competent using Microsoft Excel, Word, email and electronic record-keeping systems.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, data protection and financial controls.
  • Experience working with residents' personal monies within a care, health or social care environment is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in bookkeeping, accounting or business administration is desirable.
