Role Description
This position involves the financial administration for four farmer buying cooperatives mainly based in the South West but with one in the East Midlands. There are approximately 100 farmer members with a total annual turnover of £45M. The post will become vacant upon the impending retirement of the current administrator who has been in the role for 20 years.
Responsibilities
The Financial Administrator role is a full-time, and home-based apart from one annual face-to-face meeting with each group. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including:
- Processing invoices
- Reconciling accounts
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with budgeting and financial planning activities
- Preparing financial reports
- Supporting compliance with internal policies and external regulations

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify financial information

- Support periodic audits and reviews
Qualifications
- Strong accounting skills
- Preferably have an agricultural background
- Solid Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support process improvements
- Effective Communication skills to present financial information clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Relevant qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field are beneficial but proven relevant experience is more important
- Proficiency with financial software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel or equivalent) and familiarity with basic IT tools is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines under pressure will be important
