Clearwater Wealth Management
Clearwater Wealth Management is the most successful and fastest growing practice in the St. James's Place network. We are London based and currently recruiting ambitious individuals who are looking for a career in wealth management as a Financial Adviser. We are looking for individuals who either are Level 4 Diploma qualified, or actively working towards this with exams booked.
Employment and Self-Employment Routes
We offer both an employed and self-employed route to advising:
Employed Financial Adviser
- A salaried role with clients provided from day one.
- A competitive base salary and uncapped bonus while you build a client bank of your own.
- The option to buy your practice once it reaches an agreed threshold.
- Suitable for paraplanners, adviser support, client services, and banking professionals who want their own clients with a salary underneath them.
Self-Employed Financial Adviser
- For people who want to own the business they build.
- A £40,000 start-up facility covers marketing, set-up costs, and a monthly subsistence allowance while you establish yourself.
- In time, you buy out your book and own the business outright.
- Suitable for entrepreneurial advisers who would rather build equity than draw a salary.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You do not need to have decided which of the two you want before you apply. Most people work that out in conversation with us.
What Sits Behind Both
- Marketing support generating qualified leads and appointments.
- Structured training from practicing advisers, and ongoing development well past your first year.
- A back-office team working alongside you on administration, paperwork, and compliance.
- Support in completing the Level 4 Diploma if you are part-qualified.
- A route to owning the practice you build.
Being Honest About the Job
This is a demanding role. Building a client bank takes long hours, real discipline, and a great deal of detail. The detail does not disappear because there is a back-office team; you simply are not carrying it on your own. What we can promise is that the effort goes somewhere.
Who We Are Looking For

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, held or actively being worked towards with exams booked.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and build long-term client trust.
- A high level of integrity and discretion, and a genuine commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical advice standards.
- Resilience. The first year asks a lot of you, and you keep going when a week goes badly.
- A strong work rate and the self-discipline to manage your own diary, pipeline, and priorities without being chased.
- Real ambition. Uncapped earnings only mean something to someone who wants more.
- A working understanding of pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning. You do not need deep technical expertise in all of them, as the training and the technical team will develop that.
Please apply with your CV attached. Every application is read by a person, and you will hear from us within five working days. All applications are treated in the strictest confidence.
