Alexander Peter Wealth Management
Alexander Peter Wealth Management is looking for an experienced UK Financial Adviser to join our growing retirement planning business.
This is a little different from the typical Financial Adviser opportunity.
Alongside developing your career within our UK business, we are looking for someone who has an interest in potentially working in the United States in the future as our US operation continues to grow.
For the right candidate, this could include support towards obtaining the necessary US qualifications and licences, as well as potential US visa sponsorship/support, subject to eligibility and applicable immigration requirements.
The Opportunity
Initially, you will join our UK advisory business, working predominantly with clients who are approaching or already in retirement.
Your advice will cover areas including:
- Pension consolidation
- At-retirement planning
- Pension drawdown and retirement income
- Investment and ISA planning
- Cash-flow modelling
- Tax-efficient retirement strategies
- Estate and legacy planning
- Ongoing financial planning and client reviews
You will manage clients through the complete advice journey, from initial discovery and fact-find through to recommendation, implementation and ongoing advice.
Leads Provided
We invest significantly in our own marketing and lead generation.
You will have access to prospective clients generated through our marketing activity, rather than being expected to build your business entirely through self-generation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are therefore looking for an adviser who is technically strong but also commercially minded and comfortable converting new client opportunities.
A Potential Pathway to the US
Alexander Peter also operates a financial advisory business in the United States.
As this business grows, we want to develop advisers who understand our culture, systems and approach to financial planning and who may eventually want to work within the US market.
For the right person, there may be an opportunity to:
- Gain relevant US financial services qualifications and licences
- Receive support and training on the US retirement and investment market
- Develop knowledge of 401(k)s, IRAs and US retirement planning
- Work with British expatriates and internationally connected clients
- Work alongside our existing US advisory business
- Potentially relocate to the United States
- Potentially receive support/sponsorship towards an appropriate US work visa, subject to eligibility and immigration requirements
You do not need any US qualifications or experience to apply.
We are looking for a strong UK adviser who is interested in developing those skills with us over time.
What We're Looking For
You will need:
- UK Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a UK Financial Adviser
- Strong knowledge of pensions and retirement planning
- Experience with pension consolidation and/or drawdown
- Good understanding of the FCA-regulated advice process
- Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills
- Ability to convert prospective clients into long-term advice relationships
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using CRM and financial planning systems
- A commercial, ambitious and self-motivated approach
