Job Title: Financial Adviser - SJP
Location: Sunderland
Basic Salary: £50,000, OTE £70,000
Hours: 4 day working week
About our client and the role:
Swarm Recruitment are delighted to be working alongside an established and growing financial advisory practice. Based in the North East, with a strong reputation for providing high-quality, personalised financial advice and building long-term client relationships, they manage a significant and growing client base of individuals, families and owner-managed businesses.
As part of their continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Financial Adviser to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a client-focused adviser who enjoys building lasting relationships, managing their own client base and developing new business. Experience working with business owners or commercial clients would be particularly advantageous. You’ll join a supportive, established team with a strong focus on professional development, collaboration and delivering excellent client outcomes.
Salary and Benefits:
- £50,000 basic salary
- 20%/50% commission based on salary validation threshold achieved (1x or 2x respectively)
- £70,000 OTE
- Established client bank
- Parking
- 25 days per annum, plus bank holidays
- Pension Contribution 5%
- Private Medical Insurance
- DIS x 4

Working Hours & Location:
- 4 day working week - rotating days off across the weeks
- 8am - 6pm or 8.30am - 5.30pm
- 3 days working in the office to establish and maintain the team culture, 1 day working from home
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Financial Advisor/Wealth Advisor
- Experience advising across investments, pension, protection, IHT & Estate planning
- Commercial Clients (desirable): Experience advising business owners, company directors or commercial clients, with an understanding of both business and personal financial planning.
- Proven track record of delivering strong client outcomes
- Commercially minded, relationship-driven, and values-led
- Ambitious, professional, and motivated to build a long-term career
- Excellent rapport and relationship building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (CII, CISI, or equivalent)
- CAS status

Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a client base of approximately 250 households (300 clients)
- Provide comprehensive, client-focused financial advice tailored to individual needs and objectives.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, ensuring continuity of service.
- Conduct regular client reviews and identify opportunities for further financial planning.
- Actively develop existing relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Prepare clear, accurate and compliant advice and suitability reports.
- Ensure all advice meets FCA and company regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Work effectively with paraplanners, administrators and the wider team.
- Keep up to date with legislation, regulation and market developments.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the strong team culture.
