About the Company

An established and highly respected independent financial planning firm is seeking an experienced Financial Adviser to join its growing team in Guildford. The business has built its reputation on doing the right thing for clients, placing long-term relationships, integrity and quality advice at the heart of everything it does.

About the Role

A Financial Planning role focused on advice, not sales targets. Unlike many advisory firms, advisers are not driven by aggressive sales targets, but there is an expectation that the adviser has the necessary soft skills to convert leads and nurture new and existing client relationships. This is an outstanding opportunity for an adviser who enjoys providing holistic financial planning and wants the security of an existing client bank alongside a steady stream of new opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver holistic, independent financial planning tailored to individual client needs.
  • Manage and develop an inherited portfolio of approximately 50 clients.
  • Conduct client meetings and ongoing review appointments.
  • Build strong long-term relationships with both existing and newly introduced clients.
  • Gather and analyse client information to understand objectives and financial planning requirements.
  • Research suitable financial planning solutions and prepare clear recommendations.
  • Produce accurate and compliant documentation supporting all advice provided.
  • Deliver agreed service levels in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain Competent Adviser Status and meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Remain up to date with technical developments, legislation and FCA regulations.
  • Follow internal compliance, training and competence procedures at all times.
  • Complete ongoing CPD and continually enhance professional knowledge.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
