Finance Analyst | Leicester | £50,000 + Bonus + Benefits

If you’re the person people turn to when a dashboard needs rebuilding, a model needs improving or a manual process needs automating, this could be a really good fit.

We’re working on a confidential search for a well known business in Leicester that wants to significantly improve how its finance team uses data, reporting and technology.

About the Role

This is not a traditional Financial Analyst role. They’re looking for somebody who combines good finance and commercial understanding with excellent Power BI, modelling and automation capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with large and sometimes complex datasets, building models and dashboards that give senior leadership clearer and more useful information.
  • Improve existing reporting, reduce manual processes and help the wider team make better use of the technology available to them.
  • Understand what the business needs and then build something that works properly.
  • Develop a new Power BI dashboard, improve the structure of a financial model, automate a repetitive reporting process or find a clearer way to present a complicated set of data.
  • Become the go-to person across the team for Power BI and advanced Excel, helping colleagues improve their own capability and raising the overall standard of reporting.
  • AI is also a genuine part of the brief. You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you should be curious about where it can add value within finance and have ideas around how it could improve reporting, analysis and processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • A formal finance qualification is not essential, but you will need enough commercial finance experience to understand the numbers, challenge assumptions and build models that support real business decisions.
  • Enjoy improving things. They want somebody who will look at existing reports and processes, question whether there is a better way and use Power BI, automation and AI to make finance smarter and more efficient.
