Description
A leading mid-market private equity firm is looking to appoint a high-calibre Financial Analyst to join its finance team. The role would suit a qualified accountant with 1–2 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a private equity, investment management, transaction services, or similarly fast-paced environment. Working closely with the CFO, COO and other senior stakeholders, the Financial Analyst will have broad exposure across the firm’s portfolio and fund accounting activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to move into, or further develop their career within, private equity, offering broad exposure to both the investment portfolio and senior stakeholders within an established mid-market platform.
Skills
Key responsibilities will include:
- Design, build, and maintain financial models and reporting tools to be used for performance analysis, forecasting, strategic planning, and reporting for the LLP, the funds, and portfolio companies.
- Participate in the presentation of the outputs of financial models, contributing to the interpretation of the data.
- Undertake SQL data projects.
- Preparing documentation as required.

The ideal candidate will:
- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 1–2 years’ PQE.
- Have prior experience in a modelling role, either within public practice or an asset management business.
- Have advanced MS Excel modelling skills, including Power Query. Knowledge of VBA and familiarity with Power BI are desirable. You will need an ability to design and build best-practice models with non-technical users in mind.
- Have habitual, practical use of AI tools in day-to-day finance work and experience using AI to work with Excel, data and code.
- Have gained experience in a high-quality professional services, investment, or corporate environment.
- Be commercially minded with strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Be confident communicating with senior stakeholders.
- Be ambitious, intellectually curious and keen to develop within a high-performing investment environment.
