Finance Analyst

A growing consumer-facing business is looking to appoint a Finance Analyst to support operational decision-making across a large and diverse portfolio.

This role offers excellent exposure to commercial finance, business partnering, and performance analysis within a fast-paced environment. Working closely with senior finance colleagues and operational stakeholders, you'll help deliver meaningful financial insight, support planning processes, and contribute to driving profitability through data-led decision-making.

Whether you're studying towards a professional qualification, part-qualified, or qualified by experience, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your analytical and commercial finance skills within a high-volume operational business.

The Opportunity

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing regular financial and operational performance reports.
  • Analysing large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Investigating variances and providing meaningful commentary to support decision-making.
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Preparing journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitoring operational expenditure and identifying opportunities for improved cost control.
  • Supporting financial governance and reporting processes.
  • Assisting with month-end activities and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Partnering with operational teams and management to understand financial performance.
  • Contributing to review meetings and providing commercial insight to stakeholders.

About You

We're looking for someone who can combine strong analytical ability with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience within a Finance Analyst, Management Accounts, Commercial Finance, or similar finance role.
  • Progress towards a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or relevant experience gained in practice or industry.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • The confidence to work with both finance and operational stakeholders.
