Finance Analyst – Commercial Finance | Contract

We are looking for an experienced Finance Analyst to join a commercial finance team supporting multiple production businesses.

About the Role

This role will provide commercial finance support across forecasting, reporting, financial analysis and senior stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with finance teams and senior stakeholders to understand business performance, challenge forecasts and provide clear commercial insight into key trends, risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review month-end actuals and commentary against forecast, budget and prior year, challenging explanations where required.
  • Consolidate and analyse P&L, cash flow and working capital forecasts.
  • Understand and analyse key business drivers, including trading movements, production timing, revenue and working capital.
  • Prepare reporting packs, bridge analysis, commentary and supporting schedules for senior stakeholders.
  • Support monthly and quarterly business performance reviews.
  • Provide analysis for strategic reviews, business performance assessments and scenario modelling.
  • Support vendor due diligence workstreams.
  • Maintain and improve reporting templates, consolidation files and supporting schedules.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve commercial finance processes.
  • Work closely with finance teams, senior leaders and external advisers.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of P&L, working capital and cash flow analysis.
  • Experience reviewing and challenging financial performance and forecasts.
  • Strong ability to understand and explain business drivers and financial movements.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with consolidation and reporting files.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work directly with finance teams, senior stakeholders and external advisers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce clear, commercially focused outputs.
