What will you be responsible for as a Finance Analyst at Leumi UK?
Leumi UK is seeking a qualified and motivated Finance Analyst to join its Finance team to take ownership of and run many of our essential daily, monthly and quarterly reporting processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys a broad range of financial accounting, reporting and analytical responsibilities within a growing specialist lender.
The role will cover items such as bank reconciliation and loan book transaction processing, as well as monthly management account production and quarterly VAT returns. The role will suit someone who is keen to get involved and build their knowledge around many different areas of financial accounting and reporting.

Strong Excel skills are essential, and experience with financial reporting systems, data analytics and Power BI would be advantageous, with a keen eye for efficiency and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
Daily
- Perform Bank and lending system postings and reconciliations
Monthly
- Ownership of various month end finance tasks that support the monthly management account reporting including (but not limited to):
- Accruals, other debtor/creditors and bank reconciliations
- Funds in use reporting and monthly reconciliation
- Analysis of income and commissions including deferred fees
- Analysis of various cost lines to support internal reporting
- Provide cover for posting of other adjustments including corporation tax and earn out adjustments
- Cost of funds allocation and analysis
- Production of monthly management accounts for review by the Financial Controller
- Ownership of Defined Benefit pension scheme admin costs process
Quarterly / Annual
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other reporting requirements, including ONS and UK Finance returns.
- Support annual budgeting process and ad hoc additional forecasting and analysis as required
- Support reporting to our parent company through production of various schedules and analysis
- Support external audit and tax compliance processes by providing timely analysis and reconciliations as required
- Support statutory accounts process by preparing various schedules and analysis as required

Other
- Cover for other members of the Financial Control Team as required including payments / accounts payable
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential
- Accountancy qualification from a recognised body – ICAEW / CIMA / ACCA or similar
- Experience of working within the finance function of a financial services institution or similar
- Intermediate to Advanced excel skills ((pivot tables, lookups and SUMIF as a minimum) and experience of simplifying / improving complex excel processes
- Good understanding of what a strong internal control environment looks like and has practical experience of operating within one
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of corporation tax and / or VAT
- Experience of using Microsoft Business Central and / or Power BI
- Experience within asset finance, commercial lending or banking environments
- Exposure to financial reporting automation and process improvement initiatives
- Knowledge or experience of utilising AI capabilities within a finance function
