Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A solid academic grounding, high attention to detail, and the ability to reason from first principles are essential. In addition to performing valuation analysis, our London team is encouraged to build and maintain technology underpinning the various processes that make up much of our work flow (pricing models, cashflow engines, data infrastructure, dashboarding, etc.), in order to increase efficiency while maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and transparency. The instruments we deal in are complex and we often work towards tight deadlines, particularly around busier times of the financial cycle.

Role

  • Learn structured credit from first principles, and how different levers drive outcomes.
  • Build and refine the data sets and valuation algorithms used to price thousands of securities daily.
  • Analyse client portfolios of structured credit securities.
  • Model bespoke transactions in Excel, Python, and our in-house cashflow modelling tool.
  • Identify and automate process bottlenecks.
  • Handle client queries, engagement, and run product demonstrations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must be a 2026 Graduate
  • A strong record in a numerate or hard-science discipline.
  • Curiosity about how financial markets work.
  • Self-directed, comfortable thinking from first principles, and able to operate in a small, demanding team in a highly collegiate environment.

Useful, But Not Required

We do not require prior finance, modelling, or programming experience. However if you have a background applying Excel, Python, or C# to creatively solve problems, we encourage you to mention it in your application.

Interview process

After you apply, you should hear back from us within two weeks if we intend to progress your application. The process below is indicative; stages may shift depending on availability of our team.

Round 1: Remote

  • You will receive a short Excel task involving a structured finance deal scenario.
  • No finance background is required.
  • You will have 48 hours to return it, though we expect it to only take a couple of hours of focused work.
  • You will then have two interviews via Microsoft Teams with senior members of the team, one of which will focus on your approach to the task.

Round 2: In person, Mayfair office

  • A half-day in our London office, meeting additional team members for a mix of logic-based problem-solving and conversations about your interests and motivations.
  • Reasonable travel costs covered.

Round 3: In person, Mayfair office

  • A final conversation with senior members of the group covering fit, motivation, and any outstanding questions on either side.
