Job Description

This position offers the opportunity to drive financial decision making within Booking.com. We are currently looking for an entrepreneurial Financial Analyst to be part of the dynamic and fast-paced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. In this role you will report to the Senior Manager of FP&A for Strategic Partnerships. You will be working in our office in Manchester.

You will be required to provide strong financial and analytical support to your business unit (BU) or department’s stakeholders. You will have to bridge what the data tells you and how that could help decision-making on a wide array of topics.

You will be supporting the Strategic Partnerships department as a key finance business partner, supporting decision making and also supporting on ad-hoc analyses whenever there is a need from the business.

Due to the rapid and continuous growth of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role will evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and challenge yourself to take on additional projects and responsibilities as they present themselves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze our trading performance across the department, develop insights, and support trading analysis processes within the business and with other marketing channels
  • Delivery of financial results on an ongoing basis to the BPD corporate FP&A team
  • Support with forecasting, variance analysis and reporting of financial performance for SP/BPD;
  • Contribute to robust, scalable and insightful reporting of the business unit or department’s key metrics;
  • Provide financial and analytical support into business cases & deal evaluation for the department
  • Support a variety of stakeholder groups to deliver projects to improve the profitability and efficiency of the department.
  • Ownership of group wide reporting to the Booking holdings group along with any cross brand activities.
  • Adhoc analytical support and scenario modelling for the Commercial, Product, Tech and Ops business owners along with wider team support projects
  • Continuously seek ways to improve and optimize the existing reporting to fit with evolving requests from senior management.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or other related field (preferred);
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills;
  • High attention to detail and ability to connect the dots and reconcile multiple data sources;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present to different audiences;
  • Self-driven mentality, proactively seeking to find solutions to problems and providing the best analytics possible to key decision makers
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Experience with SQL, data mining, Microsoft VBA and reporting tools;
  • Ability to understand, work with and proactively advise and influence senior business partners;
  • Sees the headlines or big picture whilst having attention for the details;
  • Strong team-working skills with ability to work independently;
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and working in an unstructured environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
