MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function.
  • Experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.
  • Experience with SQL and data visualization tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working within or supporting sales organizations, in the technology or advertising industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and improve financial processes.
  • Strong communication and people management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • A strong interest in and aptitude for leveraging automation and AI tools to solve business problems and improve efficiency.

In this role, you will support the Finance team for UK and Ireland (UKI) the largest market in our EMEA business. As a key analyst on the team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver strategic business insights and drive the execution and streamlining of our core financial processes. You will combine commercial astuteness with technical depth, and help us build the AI-enabled Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) of Global Business Organization (GBO) acting as a trusted advisor and thought leader to unlock sustainable growth. You will be responsible for navigating large, complex datasets to produce actionable insights, while ensuring the flawless execution and optimization of our core operational processes. This is a role for a professional who grows on structure, accuracy, and finding scalable solutions to ambiguous problems.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in-depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct sophisticated quantitative analysis to explain business drivers, revenue trends, and risks. Translate complex data into clear narratives used for decision-making at the VP and Director level, collaborating with other finance analysts.
  • Take ownership of the market's data infrastructure. Utilize SQL and existing sales tools (e.g., connect sales) to build and maintain data pipelines and dashboards, ensuring the business has access to accurate, scalable insights.
  • Drive efficiency and accuracy in critical finance processes including weekly trading reviews, annual planning, quota setting, and Operational Expenditure (OpEx) management.
  • Identify manual bottlenecks and implement automated solutions (using SQL, Python, or AI tools) to improve the speed, depth, and quality of our reporting, contributing to our goal of shaping an AI-first future for GBO finance.
