A great opportunity to join a growing Commodities Trading House based in London as a Financial Analyst.

The Finance Analyst will support the Finance Team across accounting, reporting, systems administration, and finance transformation initiatives. The role combines traditional accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, reconciliations and month-end support, with ownership of finance systems, reporting processes, and project-based work.

The Finance Analyst will act as a key liaison between Finance, IT, banking partners and external vendors, supporting the ongoing development and optimisation of systems including SAP Business ByDesign, SAP Concur, payment platforms and internal reporting tools.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Controls

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately within CM2, SAP Business ByDesign and other finance systems
  • Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, payment runs, expense claims and ensuring timely settlement of supplier obligations.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Support stakeholders with financial analysis needed
  • Support audit, tax and compliance activities
  • Support liquidity reporting, cash flow monitoring and treasury control activities, including daily liquidity risk controls and related reporting.

Systems & Reporting

  • Act as the day-to-day owner and coordinator for finance systems including CM2, SAP Business ByDesign, SAP Concur, Daily PnL systems and other internal reporting tools

Team Support

  • Provide guidance, review and support on routine finance processes and procedures to junior members in the team
  • Act as a reliable point of contact for assigned finance activities
  • Provide general support across the Finance Team and company as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years' relevant experience within finance, accounting or financial services with prior auditor experience preferred
  • Finalist of a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong accounting fundamentals, including journals, reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Strong systems aptitude with an interest in finance technology and process improvement
  • Experience with SAP Business ByDesign, SAP Concur or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, organised and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities
